Sixth for Clarke in Kitzbuhel |
Will Clarke returned to form with a sixth place finish at the BG Triathlon World Cup in Kitzbuhel, Austria.
Clarke, the World Under 23 Triathlon Champion, stayed with the leading competitors throughout the swim and bike before shadowing them on the run. In the closing stages the pack broke up and Clarke found himself isolated in sixth, but stayed strong to clock his first top 10 World Cup finish of 2007.
Andrew Johns was 26th whilst Michelle Dillon took 18th in the women's event. Dillon exited the swim in the second pack which did not bridge back up to the thirty athletes in the lead group on the cycle. However Dillon used her running prowess to come through the field, picking up places as she went.
